Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/3 cups bottled barbecue sauce
  • 2 (28-oz.) cans baked beans

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large skillet cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain fat. Stir in onion, bell pepper and Worcestershire. Season with black pepper to taste. Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in barbecue sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes.
  2. Transfer beef mixture to a 3-quart rectangular baking dish; stir in baked beans. Cover with foil. Bake 30 to 45 minutes or until bubbly. Remove foil; bake 10 to 15 minutes more or until mixture reaches desired consistency. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
