- In a 4-quart Dutch oven or large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add beef and sausage; cook, stirring frequently to break up sausage, until browned. Add onions, mushrooms and bell pepper; cook and stir until soft.
- Stir tomato, pasta sauce and Italian seasoning into beef mixture. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- Remove cover. Simmer beef mixture 30 minutes more or until sauce reaches desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta al dente according to package directions. Drain pasta, and transfer to serving plates. Spoon meat and sauce over hot pasta, and serve.
